Introduction

Hello and a warm welcome to Sell-Software-Online-Free.com. Sorry for the silly ‘Free’ part at the end but this was the only suitable domain available at the time of registration .

My name is Misco Patel and I have been a part time freelance software developer for a number of years. It was only recently however that I decided to create and market my own, independently developed software online for commercial gain.

I will admit now, and very honestly, that the process of getting my first software online was abnormally painful. Reasons included learning the basics of web design, putting files on the internet, accepting payments and getting my software known - all of which were new to me. Others included producing instillation software and help files and licensing documents.

Talking to fellow programmers, I have found that it is often these things that hold back an otherwise knowledgeable software developer from making a stab at selling his or her software. There are currently plenty of websites dedicated to the art of selling software online - they are however scattered, poorly written and difficult to understand for a person just starting out. What I aim to do in this website is to help you grasp the very basics of preparing your software for the online world. As we go through the worked examples, you will develop new skills that will hopefully let you create something that is more suitable for your own needs.

Finally, this website is a working progress. New materials will be constantly added and old ones modified. If you would like to help me and other fellow developers with your own experiences, please send comments.
